I've now been using my hotspot and tethering w/ my unlimited plan for two months and I've got a sweet upgrade from my Z10. I am located in central Sussex County, Delaware, I can connect my phone and laptop by usb. I use a large amount of data, she uses hardly any. We both have unlimited plans but we are on different accounts. After the phone "found no updates" I went into settings and turned off the automatic updates setting and then installed the sim card. Foxfi wireless tether stopped working tonight on both my Verizon Note 4 and my wife's S4.

But after it connected and began searching for updates, I unplugged the data cable from the router, thereby disallowing the phone to get any update information from the internet. Because of no sim card, the phone asked me to connect to a WiFi source, which I did. On the restart, I pulled the sim card from the phone and let it load. However, when I turned it on, the mandatory update began downloading, so I wiped the phone before it could finish. When I got it, the original OS 10.2.1 software was loaded on it. I recently purchased a new Z30 from an online store. I found a solution!!! Wow.it was available to us all for a long time.
